DOWN UNDER KNOWLEDGE TEST.
Australia has over 25 varieties of these plants, they are related to lilies,
are very fire resistant, have a single centre stem of strong scented flowers
that imitates a spear, have a short single trunk made up of old leaf supports
held together with natural resins. These resins were used by traditional Aboriginals
as glue for spearheads etc. Have a mass of 70-cm dark green thin leaves that
resemble a grass skirt. They grow in well-spaced groups and were once known
as "blackboys," but out of respect for our Australian Aboriginals the name was
changed. They stand up to 2 meters high, are very slow growing and can live for
many years (100yrs +). Because of their majestic look they are highly sort
after landscaping trees…..
